The tragic incident of an airstrike in Gaza has resulted in the heartbreaking loss of Wael Dahdouh’s family. Wael Dahdouh who serves as the Al Jazeera bureau chief in Gaza recently relocated his family from the Tal al Hawa neighborhood to the Nuseirat area following instructions from the army for residents to move south.
The devastating attack claimed the lives of Wael Dahdouh’s wife, Amna (44 years their 16-year son Mahmoud seven-year-old daughter Sham, and their grandchild Adam. At the time of the bombing, Amna was observing a fast and had chosen to pray before breaking it as recalled by her daughter Bisan. Unfortunately, tragedy struck with the bomb blast leaving everything in ruins.
