Quran and Hadith on Charity
Islam places importance on acts of charity and assisting those who are less fortunate. The Quran talks about the significance of helping others and sharing one’s wealth with those in need.
The example of those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah is that of a grain that sprouts into seven ears, each bearing one hundred grains. And Allah multiplies ˹the reward even more˺ to whoever He wills. For Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing.Surah Al Baqarah (2:261)
Moreover, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encouraged acts of charity through his Hadith. He stated, “The believer’s shade on the day of resurrection will be his sadaqa.” (Mishkat al-Masabih 1925)
The Weeknd’s generous donation aligns perfectly with the spirit of compassion and generosity promoted in the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. It serves as an example of fulfilling one’s duty to help those in need.
